Pears Glazed with Maple Syrup

Serves: 8
Ingredients
  • 6 Comice or other firm but ripe pears
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter or coconut oil
  • 6 tablespoons pure maple syrup
Instructions
  1. Peel, quarter and core pears.  Cut quarters in half and sprinkle with lemon juice.
  2. Melt butter or coconut oil in a skillet.  Add pears and coat with the butter.  
  3. Cook for a few minutes until pears soften just a bit.  
  4. Add syrup and cook another minute or two.  
  5. Serve as is or with coconut or cashew frozen dessert.
