Holistic Life and Wellness Coach, co-founder and Chair of Sharp Again Naturally. After receiving her MBA from Columbia Business School in 1981, Lisa worked in corporate human resources and consulting. She obtained her M.Ed. in Counseling while raising her two daughters, and during a 3-year stint in London, she began exploring alternative therapies. She attended the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and became a certified health coach in 2002. Lisa worked with clients suffering from a range of issues (including MS, fibromyalgia, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis), all of whom were helped through better nutrition and a healthier lifestyle. For over 25 years, Lisa has also been a volunteer and board member of The New Jewish Home, where she is on their executive board. Lisa maintains regular contact with elders (including those with Alzheimer’s disease) and their families; this contributes to her ongoing appreciation not only of the complexity of the health care system and the regulatory environment but also the practical issues involved in caring for people as they age.
Lisa was one of the original group of founders who learned about individuals who had been diagnosed with dementia and recovered their cognition. Given her background, it made sense that the rise in Alzheimer’s Disease reflected changes in diet, lifestyle and the environment. It was only after SAN was founded that Lisa’s own father was diagnosed with Lewy Body dementia.
