Presented by Beth R. Atlas, DC, MS, CNS®

Chronic inflammation is increasingly recognized as an important contributor to cognitive decline. Join Sharp Again and Beth R. Atlas, DC, MS, CNS®, for an exploration of neuroinflammation and its effects on brain health, including how ongoing inflammation can affect neurons, synapses, and the brain’s ability to form and maintain healthy connections.

Dr. Atlas will examine the role of microglia, the brain’s immune cells, which help clear waste and amyloid plaques but can become overactive in a chronically inflamed environment. She will also discuss how inflammation throughout the body can weaken the blood-brain barrier and contribute to neuroinflammation, as well as the connections between cardiovascular health, gut health, inflammation, and cognitive function.

The presentation will also explore evidence-informed diet and lifestyle strategies that can help reduce chronic inflammation and support cognitive health, with a focus on Alzheimer’s disease, vascular dementia, and age-related cognitive decline.
