How Nutrients & Herbs Can Improve Your Cognition

In cognitive impairments, a variety of different “insults” can combine to destroy the nerve cells used for storing (and retrieving) memory. For example: the cell machinery that generates energy from food can be shut down, so the cells starve; blood flow to key regions of the brain can be diminished; and oxygen “free radicals” can act like shrapnel to damage neurons as well as the blood vessels that serve them. It is not widely known that certain vitamins and minerals, as well as certain herbs, can halt and even reverse that destruction of neurons.

Join Dr. Richard Carlton for his talk on the robust cognitive improvements he has seen with these nutrients and herbs. He will share case reports and detail the underlying mechanisms that can help you protect (and maximize) your memory.

Dr. Richard Carlton is an integrative psychiatrist and pioneer in the rational use of nutrition-based treatment approaches when treating “mental” issues (such as depression, anxiety, ADHD), or “physical” problems (such as cognitive impairment/dementia, PMS, migraines, and IBS). He practices in Port Washington, NY and is a member of the Sharp Again Medical Advisory Board.
