Everyone knows there are several stages of sleep that they go through each night. But, do you know what happens in the brain while you sleep and why good sleep is important for your brain health?

Dr. Howard Hindin, DDS and Sharp Again Board Member, will join us to discuss what good sleep is, how lifestyle factors impact sleep quality and how a health coach can help you make effective changes to increase your healthy lifespan.

Dr. Howard HindinDr. Howard Hindin, DDS

Dr. Hindin is the co-founder and president of the Academy of Physiologic Medicine and Dentistry (AAPMD), and the Foundation for Airway Health, organizations created to prevent the proliferation of chronic disease, by raising awareness about airway, sleep, and breathing issues and offering training and education. He is also the first dentist elected to the board of the American College for Advancement of Medicine.

He is trained in all aspects of general dentistry, with an emphasis on craniofacial pain and sleep dental medicine. An acknowledged pioneer in the relationship between dental issues and whole-body health, Dr. Hindin was one of the first dentists to eliminate the use of mercury from his practice.

He has presented important position papers to dental and medical groups throughout the country. His research into the dental–medical connection has shaped the medical community’s understanding of this growing and important field.
